Business Days

When calendar days and business days are not the same thing.

Business-day counting is useful when weekends do not represent working time. It often comes up in project management, office deadlines, shipping windows, and response-time expectations.

Calendar days versus business days

Calendar days count every day in the range. Business days typically count Monday through Friday and ignore Saturdays and Sundays. Depending on the situation, those two totals can be very different.

When to use business-day counting

Use business-day counting when your schedule depends on working time rather than just elapsed time. Good examples include internal review cycles, office turnaround windows, and weekday-based reminders.
